What is HTML?

HTML is a markup language for describing web documents

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language

It can do many things such as:

• Each HTML tag describes different document content
• A markup language is a set of markup tags
• aHTML documents are described by HTML tags

HTML is not a computer programming language it is a markup language which is use to design web pages. It was not discovered; it was invented in 1990 by Tim Berners-Lee.
